Barry M. Goldwater, a five-term U.S. senator from Arizona and a champion
of conservatism "In fact, he had wrested control of the GOP from the Eastern liberal wing that had dominated it for years." Dear Republican Voter, We are the Ronald Reagan Conservative Precinct Committeemen (PCs) of Legislative District 11. We represent Republicans who place the U.S. Constitution and the Republican Platform above the personality of the candidate and any liberal positions taken by elected Republican office holders. To quote Peggy Noonan: "In politics, ideas are more important than people—or at least they should be." Like you, we are tired of Republicans being attacked by liberals but failing to respond. We will encourage Republicans to respond to attacks and aggressively promote a conservative agenda. We pledge to support Republican leaders who place the wishes of Conservative Republican citizens first when considering legislation. You may not be aware of the struggle for control of the political direction of the party. Our side believes the Constitution and Platform are paramount. The opposing side believes the party and the candidate are paramount. The struggle is evident by the fact that in LD 11 we have contested races for PCs in 45 of 83 precincts where there normally would have been none. The best example of this struggle was the Comprehensive Immigration Reform Bill. While 80-90% of Republicans opposed this legislation, most of our Congressional Delegation favored it. Nearly the same percentages applied to the Arizona legislation that required U.S. citizenship be shown in order to register to vote. Republicans favored that measure by an 80-90% margin but 100% of the Arizona Republican Congressional Delegation opposed it. The position of the side supporting the party and candidate concept was most clearly stated by one of the members of our Congressional Delegation when he said, "the party exists to get Republicans elected, not declare stances on issues." He was quoted in the Capital Times newspaper after Precinct Committeemen, who believed in Constitution and Platform first, took an active roll in defeating the Amnesty Bill he supported. If we who support Constitution and Platform first had followed his directive, this disastrous Amnesty Bill would have passed. It is certain the Democrats would not have opposed the bill. It was only activist PCs of the Republican Party who were able to defeat this bill by having the Party take a stance on the issue. We are making this point because the Republican Elite Power Structure is again attempting to silence opposition to their Spending and Amnesty Scheme by removing PCs from office who disagree with their agenda. In 2006, despite a $20,000 campaign to remove PCs funded by lobbyists, Chamber of Commerce members, and Amnesty advocates, they failed. In 2008, they are making a much more concerted effort. We ask that you continue to support our efforts by voting for those Conservative PCs who, on the blue post card you recently received, are endorsed by Sheriff Joe Arpaio, and the County and District Chairmen. We are pledged to oppose unconstitutional legislation and legislation in opposition to the GOP Platform even if introduced by Republicans.

A report on Sonoran Alliance exposes supporters of the 2006 campaign to take back District 11 from the Conservatives Some of this year's PC candidates were listed on the 2006 RepublicansForJanet website. Some are behind the deceptively named Stop Illegal Hiring Act Some appear to be privately supporting democrat candidates while seeking a PC position in the Republican Party Their financing comes through Grassroots Arizona PAC . Of the more than $16,000 raised two years ago, $6,800 came from two wealthy San Francisco Democrats, Lisa and GregoryWendt If you click the image below, you can see their recent card.
